Insignia speakers (Baby "Tannoy")
Listening to vocal music like Chai Chin and Jim Reeves is a pleasure as the speakers can easily project the vocal. Cesaria Evora's multiple instruments (piano, violin) and vocal also sounded nice with a good sound stage with these baby.
My previous Chi Ping speakers (HK$3800) with 3 inch driver has demonstrated strong vocal presenation. However, the baby (HK$500) with a 6 inch driver wlll out perform the Chi Ping easily... With the bigger driver and the unique triangular curve design cabinet, it has managed to project a good soundstage and resolution that is missing from the Chi Ping (which sounded a bit hollow when playing louder and multiple instrumentas music owing to the smaller 3 inch driver).
Will continue to explore more varieties of music..but at HK$500..its a bargain..

- Carbon fiber cone reproduces crisp and clear audio
- Product Features
- Bass-reflex design provides a deep, extended response

The speakers need some serious running in with my "burn in" CD. After hours of running in, the sound is beginning to "open up". The real Tannoy Mini costs HK$10,000 while the Baby "Tannoy" only costs only HK$500. Even though it is so cheap, it has a good sound stage, detail and resolution and a good mid range. From the price vs performance ratio, this is clearly a pair of superb speakers that is highly affordable. Previously, for affordable audiophile speakers, I would consider the Chi Ping speakers as one of the best value for money. With the appearance of these baby, the crown as to be passed to these baby.. Enjoy affordable luxury..especially in this critical time...

Schulz KSP 215 full range driver AlNiCo version
I was told that the sound will be even better if I have place the drivers in a 2 cubic feet cabinets. Owing to the lack of time, i will just bear with the slight lack of bass.

Music & Time
Just came back from business trip...
Even though time is limited, listening to short music session is good enough....
I have been enjoying and playing with hifi for a few years and I am glad that the total number of "toys" has not increased since my streamlining exercise.
There was once I went into listening to LPs but the much needed time has prevented me from "moving in" further. An old man whom i have bought much classical CDs has also advised me not to play with LPs as it will be too time consuming. Furthermore, he has advised that Time should be used for building career ! Music should just help one to relax and enjoy..
How true..
